About Us

Coastal Pines Behavioral Health is an acute care behavioral health hospital located in St. Augustine, Florida. We serve individuals throughout the northeast and East Coast regions of Florida, as well as patients from southern Georgia who are seeking inpatient psychiatric care close to home.

Our team understands that no two people experience symptoms of mental health concerns the same way, so no two treatment plans should look the same either. For this reason, our multidisciplinary team works together to develop an individualized treatment plan for every patient. Whether someone arrives in the middle of an acute mental health crisis, has been managing symptoms of a long-standing psychiatric condition, or is struggling with a co-occurring addiction, our team is prepared to provide the comprehensive, evidence-based care needed to support lasting healing.

Why Choose Us?

Choosing where to receive mental health treatment is one of the most important decisions a person can make, and we don’t take that lightly. At Coastal Pines Behavioral Health, we have built a treatment environment where clinical excellence and genuine compassion go hand in hand, guiding every aspect of the care we provide.

Inpatient treatment is delivered by experienced psychiatrists, master’s-level clinicians, registered nurses, and behavioral health professionals who use proven modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, and 12-Step facilitation.

We accept referrals and admissions inquiries 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As our hospital grows, we will continue to expand the levels of care we offer, including a planned partial hospitalization program and intensive outpatient program for adults.

Who Do We Treat?

We treat individuals who are struggling with a wide range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), psychosis, self-harming behavior, and suicidal ideation.

We are also equipped to provide care for people who are struggling with co-occurring substance use disorders, including addictions to substances like alcohol, benzodiazepines, and opioids.

At the time of our hospital’s opening, we will provide care for adults age 18 and older. In the near future, we will expand our programming to offer dedicated care for adolescents as well.

What’s a Typical Day Like?

Mental health treatment is never one-size-fits-all, and a day at our St. Augustine hospital reflects that. Each patient’s schedule is shaped by their individualized plan of care, which typically combines time with a psychiatrist and participation in various types of therapy. We tailor our patients’ experiences to their individual therapeutic process so that they gain the most benefit from their time with us.

Aftercare planning begins the day a patient is admitted to our hospital, ensuring that there is a clear, supported transition back to the community in place once inpatient treatment comes to an end.

What Makes Our Setting Ideal?

Our state-of-the-art hospital was designed from the ground up with patient well-being at the center of every decision. Thoughtful architecture, calming interiors, and unique artwork throughout the building create an environment that feels less institutional and more conducive to the healing process.

Located in beautiful St. Augustine, the setting itself offers a sense of calm that supports the clinical work happening inside the building. Every detail, from the layout of the patient units to the integration of treatment spaces, reflects our commitment to delivering acute psychiatric care in a place that feels safe, secure, and comfortable.
