Opening August 2026!

Coastal Pines Behavioral Health is a 144-bed acute care behavioral health hospital offering tailored inpatient treatment for adults who are suffering from symptoms of mental health concerns and co-occurring substance use disorders. Set in historic St. Augustine, Florida, our hospital gives patients across northeast Florida and southern Georgia a place to step away from the stresses of everyday life and begin their healing journeys.

Comprehensive Mental Healthcare in St. Augustine

Nestled in the heart of St. Augustine, Coastal Pines Behavioral Health offers a peaceful and restorative setting for individuals who are in need of inpatient psychiatric care. Our newly built, state-of-the-art facility was designed with one purpose in mind — to provide exceptional behavioral healthcare in an environment that fosters genuine healing.

Our hospital’s design reflects current best practices in psychiatric treatment, with semiprivate patient rooms, dedicated therapeutic spaces, and unique artwork woven throughout the campus. Every element was shaped around the needs of patients, with the goal of creating a space where people feel comfortable and safe while getting the care they need.

Why St. Augustine?

As one of Florida’s most storied and serene cities, St. Augustine offers the kind of calm that is hard to find. The mild climate, walkable historic district, and unhurried pace make northeast Florida a natural setting for those in need of healing. For patients who are coming to us from busy cities, rural communities, or anywhere in between, the area that surrounds our hospital offers something rare — a sense of stillness. The natural beauty of the surrounding landscape contributes to a sense of peace that supports the therapeutic process. At our behavioral health hospital, we believe that where you heal matters.

Our hospital serves patients throughout Florida, with a primary focus on Jacksonville, Daytona Beach, Palm Coast, Gainesville, and surrounding northeast and East Coast counties, as well as communities across southern Georgia.

Who We Serve

At the time of our hospital’s opening, we will provide inpatient psychiatric care for adults age 18 and older. Specialized care for adolescents is planned for a future phase of our hospital’s development, which is coming soon.

Our inpatient program is designed to treat individuals who are struggling with a range of mental health concerns, including:

  • Major depressive disorder
  • Anxiety disorders
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • Psychotic disorders
  • Self-harm
  • Suicidal ideation
  • Co-occurring addictions

A Modern Hospital Designed for Healing

Our modern hospital was purpose-built for behavioral health, which is rarer than it may sound. Many psychiatric units in the United States operate inside of repurposed medical floors. Coastal Pines Behavioral Health, however, was designed specifically to offer a dedicated behavioral health space, which means that every detail — from sightlines and safety features to lighting, common areas, and patient rooms — was developed with psychiatric care in mind.

At our facility, patients will find:

  • Thoughtfully appointed patient rooms that are designed for rest and recovery
  • Dedicated group therapy and programming spaces
  • Original, unique artwork and design elements that are intended to soothe rather than sterilize
  • Outdoor and communal areas that encourage gentle, restorative activity
  • A layout built to support both clinical workflow and patient comfort
